Major Milestone with Launch of AI Engineer – Flatlogic Team

April 9, 2025 By Mark Otto Off

We are excited to share with you a significant update to our web application development platform, introducing the AI Engineer – an intelligent agent that helps you build and evolve your web application by talking to it. It understands plain English, gathers requirements, and lets you modify your app in real time through an integrated chat interface.

This marks a significant milestone (not the final release 🙂 towards fully enabling AI-driven app modifications within Flatlogic.

The entire platform has been upgraded to support this interaction-first workflow: live preview, instant feedback, and full development environment behavior without leaving the platform. The AI Engineer also assists with debugging, explains how parts of the application work, and helps you navigate your project through conversation, instead of digging through code manually. This update brings us closer than ever to our goal: translating your vision directly into working software with minimal delays.

Highlights of the Update

AI Engineer – From Requirements to Code

The AI Engineer acts as a co-developer throughout the build process. Users describe features or changes in natural language, and the system automatically generates or modifies the necessary application layers. This includes database entities, UI components, business logic, and error handling. The goal is simple: translate vision into working software without delays.

To ensure quality and reduce iteration loops, flatlogic platform now includes prompt optimization assistance. It guides users in crafting more precise requests, resulting in cleaner, more predictable code generation. This makes working with the AI more efficient and minimizes ambiguity in the development process.

Live Application Editing with Instant Feedback

A new real-time editing interface enables users to modify their applications interactively. All changes made through the AI chat interface are reflected instantly in the live app preview. Developers can tweak features and logic on the fly, significantly reducing the time between idea, implementation, and validation. Starting Web App 2025

Integrated Version Control and Rollback

Every change can be saved through a Git-based versioning system built into the platform. Users can view the full change history and revert to any previous version with a single click. This adds stability and confidence to the iterative development process.

Unified Development Environment Controls

The updated Project Settings panel gives you full control over how your development environment behaves. From toggling live preview mode and switching between editor states to adjusting how and where your app runs during development, everything is now in one place. This unifies the experience and removes friction when configuring your workspace, so you can focus on building – not clicking through scattered settings.

Today’s launch represents the completion of a major step toward our ultimate vision of fully AI-driven app modification capabilities. Additionally, we’re preparing an exciting new pricing model designed for greater flexibility, transparency, and detailed control, which will be released soon.

These features are live and available to all Flatlogic users. Whether you’re a startup founder or a development team lead, you can now build, modify, and manage full-stack applications faster and more reliably using natural language.

As we’ve done for four consecutive years, we’re conducting our annual research on how developers and organizations start web applications. This year’s edition builds on insights from our 2024 report and focuses on emerging trends such as “vibe coding” and the growing use of AI-driven web app generators.

The goal is simple: to understand how apps are started – across all approaches, from traditional coding to low-code and no-code tools. The survey has been fully updated with relevant, AI-centered questions and removes outdated topics to reflect the current state of development better.

It’s anonymous, takes less than 3 minutes, and contributes to an open-source report that we will share publicly. As a thank you, participants will also receive a 50% discount on all Flatlogic products.
